The Basque Environmental Agency IHOBE has implemented the creation of an Environmental Observation and Monitoring System, especially for the fields of climate change and soil protection. NAIDER and EURECAT, the main technological centre in Catalonia, have had the opportunity to collaborate for the first time in the support service for the development of this Observation System.

EURECAT incorporated its technological knowledge in the field and in digitisation processes into the collaboration, while NAIDER contributed its specific know-how in strategic environmental planning and expert knowledge of environmental and climate trends and scenarios.

In addition to promoting processes of reflection and contrast, or reviewing and benchmarking reference and relevant information on climate change, the service included coordination work with the LIFE IP Urban Klima 2050 project for the integration of its methodological framework and the indicators it obtains.
