We had the privilege of attending Soraluce Summit 2024, one of the most important events in the Basque industrial scene. This event brings together hundreds of suppliers, customers and employees of the Soraluce Cooperative, part of DanobatGroup, a world leader in its sector.
Our hosts, Rafa Idigoras, current manager since 2006, and Rafael Barrenechea (former manager), spent the whole morning showing us the industrial strength of the company, but above all the social commitment of the cooperative project to which they belong. A project that, since its inception in 1962, has been committed to community building, to local talent and to promoting processes of urban transformation and social regeneration in its immediate surroundings, particularly in the village of Osintxu, where most of its impressive assembly, manufacturing and R&D facilities are located.
A project that competes with solvency on a global scale, with a very clear business vision that is reflected in its corporate slogan: “There is only one first”, a true declaration of intent in this globalised world, where they are able to fulfil their permanent commitment to innovation, knowledge and technological development. In short, Soraluce is the spearhead of the Basque business model, building a country and a competitive Europe from the local level.
Founded in 1962, the cooperative is a leader in the manufacture of machine tools. Its history is one of constant growth and adaptation to the needs of the global market, characterised by innovation and quality in machining solutions. The company is part of the Danobat Group, which allows it to have a strong international presence and compete at the highest level in industrial sectors such as aerospace, automotive and capital goods.
At Soraluce Summit 2024, we also had the opportunity to meet with a dozen companies, agents and reference persons for Soraluce. Together we explored the new lines of work and their mechanical designs, and they presented us with advanced automated solutions, demonstrating the company’s ability to offer automated and highly productive machining processes without supervision.
