Naider has supported Ihobe, the Basque Government’s public environmental management company, in evaluating projects applying for environmental improvement grants in the Basque Country. This aid is organised into two distinct subsidy schemes. The first is aimed at the Basque private sector, while the second is aimed at local and regional administrations within the territory.
Naider’s multidisciplinary team has ensured that companies, town councils, and regional entities comply with the submitted projects and the requirements of each call for proposals. Having worked on projects related to Ihobe subsidies for several years, we have once again made our expertise available to Ihobe. We have evaluated applications, assessed justifications and helped local councils and companies apply for and obtain grants to develop projects. We have also collaborated on the implementation of these projects. Additionally, Naider is conducting a cost-effectiveness study to enhance the efficiency of the grants.
Within the framework of this specific work, various projects have been analysed in both subsidy lines. The Basque business and industrial sector has requested aid for the environmental improvement of its surroundings, linked to its industrial activity, whether in water, soil, air, noise or waste generation. We have also been able to assess the projects that companies have presented in the field of eco-innovation, projects that are necessary to continue obtaining new tools for improvement. Basque SMEs have also had access to a line of aid to collaboratively promote the circular economy in their organisations.
The public sector, with the coordination of the Basque network of sustainable municipalities Udalsarea 2030, town councils and regional entities have been able to apply for aid to promote climate planning and action, the renaturalisation and improvement of the natural capital of their territories, and to promote the circular economy in municipalities and regions.
