The consequences of climate change are catastrophic for the whole world, but for countries in the tropics or sub-tropics, such as India, they are quite intensified. It must be taken into account that these are countries in which the majority of the population lives in rural areas and that it is from there that they feed themselves to live. If we add to the case of India the rapid economic and population growth it is experiencing, the consequences of extremely bad storms can be unimaginable. Their income, housing and food depend more and more on mother nature, which we are destroying faster and faster.
The video introduces us, ClimaAdapt, an international project carried out between a series of technological research and development centers (Bioforsk , IWMI, TNAU, WALAMTARI and MSSRF) to tackle and deal with all these problems that will only increase in the future. It was launched in 2012 in Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Telangana with the aim of developing climate-smart agricultural technologies in India and to improve the adaptive capacity of farmers, or what is the same, the vast majority of its inhabitants.
