A group of researchers from the Singular Center for Research in Biological Chemistry and Molecular Materials, CIQUS, has developed a very simple procedure to obtain nanometric graphenes, but what is this new development for? Nanometric graphene will help in the generation of a new generation of electronic devices, what’s more, CIQUS has worked on this project with IBM.

The method they have presented is based on the reactivity of a group of molecules called arines, which can act as a kind of “molecular glue” to join grain fragments. The preparation of these materials, which can have different sizes and shapes , is a crucial element to build graphene-based electronic circuits, molecular machinery and/or single-molecule devices.
