SECOND DAY OF THE COP21.
Yesterday, the first day of COP21 was marked by the participation of the great world leaders. Angela Merkel, Barack Obama, François Hollande, Xi Jinping and even Vladimir Putin were part of the more than 150 heads of states present. Their messages were marked by three elements: optimism for the possibility of decisive change, urgency for such change, and determination for such change. The promises of China and the United States raise hopes.
There is room for optimism, but since we must not forget the previous disappointments. As the “athletes” of international diplomacy like to say, the negotiations will not end until they are over.
