750px- Pearl_River_Delta_AreaA few weeks ago they went out to plans to establish a large megapolis in China, the result of administrative unification and territorial development not yet urbanized, included in the area formed by the now large Chinese cities of Guangzhou, Shenzhen and including Foshan, Dongguan, Zhongshan, Zhuhai, came to light. Jiangmen, Huizhou and Zhaoqing (Pearl River Delta). 42 million people gathered in a new city resulting from unification.

Apparently this is nothing compared to a plan presented in this article, where we can read that there is also a plan to unify the management and territory of two giants such as Beijing and Tianjin into one territorial and political structure to accommodate 260 million inhabitants. This is an area that already functions as a hinterland and is known as Bohai Economic Rim, which is now intended to provide an administrative unit.

I don’t know if all the figures add up to me and to what extent we can understand this as a huge leap forward, but it is further proof that China thinks, in many things, on other scales that are very different from those we have known up to now.
