We are posting the Global Gender Gap Report, produced since 2006 by the World Economic Forum . It informs us about the differences between men and women in terms of education, health, economic participation and political empowerment. Perhaps it is opportune to clarify that this index does not take into account variables as important as early marriage, sexual abuse or gender violence.
To date, no country has managed to close the disparities completely. As for the most advanced countries in this regard, we find the Nordic countries occupying the top 5 positions in the ranking. Surprisingly, countries like Nicaragua, Rwanda or the Philippines are in the top 10. Spain has barely advanced since 2008, occupying 29th place in 2014. On the other hand, its French neighbors are the ones that have improved their positions the most since 2006, now reaching the 16th place.
