Hand in hand with Tecnalia and AIC-Automotive Intelligence Center comes another “twist” to electric cars and that is that this collaboration between the two entities have achieved design a prototype of a wheel with a motor installed inside it.
The objective of this advance seems clear, to leave space inside the vehicle to redesign it and thus give rise to a better planning of the vehicle, increasing its efficiency.
The project has passed all the stress tests to which it has been subjected and according to its designers it will also serve to facilitate driving.
The main reason why projects are being carried out is because, in the words of the engineers who have led the project, “European mobility through electric vehicles has become a key factor for the development of the future sustainable society. However, despite the importance that is foreseen, there are still some technological difficulties in energy storage and in the traction of vehicles.”
