A few days ago we explained the case of Berlinton, a small city in the state of Vermont that was capable of generating 100% of its energy through environmentally friendly methods. Without actually crossing the pond, today we will talk about Uruguay, because this small country is capable of producing almost 100% of its electricity with renewable energy.
Uruguay, with about 3.4 million inhabitants, is one of the Latin American countries with the highest quality of life, in addition, its commitment to the environment is such that it invests about 3% in renewable energy. In the next five years, the Uruguayan country intends to invest up to 6 billion US dollars for this purpose, thus continuing with the green policies of the governments of Tabaré and Mujika.
