The first table of social indicators prepared by the European Committee of the Regions includes the Basque Country among the 38 regions that have made notable progress between 2014 and 2018

The European Committee of the Regions has published for the first time the Social Scoreboard of the European Regions (NUTS 2 regions) based on Eurostat data. According to the document, 80% of the regions show positive social progress between 2014 and 2018, although it is also evident that regional differences persist within the same state. The communities of Euskadi and Navarra are part of the 38 regions that have made notable progress from 2014 to 2018: these 38 regions show positive progress in 7 social indicators (school dropout, gender wage gap , young people neither studying nor working, employment rate, unemployment rate, long-term unemployment rate , and life expectancy at birth).
