what is it: VIRTUAL PLATFORM TO GET TO KNOW THE CITY

An urban observatory is a virtual platform that collects a battery of urban sustainability indicators and monitoring of the Urban Agenda 2030, which allows to control and know the urban evolution in a controlled way.

goals: MANAGE, MONITOR, EVALUATE

The Observatory facilitates the management, monitoring and evaluation of the Action Plan of the Urban Agenda, which means that its degree of implementation can be known at all times. All of this is represented graphically, geographically and interactively.

functionalities: COMPREHENSIVE AND AUTOMATED ANALYSIS, MONITORING AND MAINTENANCE

  • The platform can be directly connected to the entity’s internal information by accessing its own databases and servers, so it is automatically updated as databases and geographic information layers are updated. This makes it much easier to maintain over time.
  • Through the platform it is possible to make graphs and comparisons, see the degree of execution and fulfilment of objectives, view the historical evolution, visualise maps at city and neighbourhood scale, relate the indicators to the Strategic Objectives of the Spanish Urban Agenda (SUA) and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), among many other options.
  • The platform allows the generation and downloading of indicator monitoring reports, implementation reports at the action level and maps with geolocalised data at city, neighbourhood and census tract level.

beneficiary entities: AUTONOMOUS COMMUNITIES AND LOCAL AUTHORITIES

Autonomous Communities and Local Bodies that wish to or are in the process of drawing up their Urban Agenda, and are looking for an effective, agile and attractive system to monitor and evaluate their Action Plan.

The platform can be designed internally, for the private use of the administration, as an instrument for analysis, monitoring and evaluation of the Urban Agenda Action Plan. However, it can also be a platform open to social, economic and institutional agents and to citizens in general, so that they can obtain a global and updated vision of their urban environment.
