The European Commission has launched its third call for proposals under the European Urban Initiative, with an investment of €90 million to support urban innovation across the EU. This call will fund opportunities to test innovative solutions in cities and accelerate green and digital transitions.

The call invites EU cities to submit projects focusing on one of two key priorities:

  • Energy Transition: Experiments with tangible solutions to ensure affordable, secure and cleaner local energy systems.
  • Technology in Cities: Exploration of emerging technologies and digital solutions to improve public services, urban governance, citizen engagement and safety.

The call for proposals is open until 14 October at 14:00.
