On Thursday 8 May, the regional meeting of the Basque Network of Sustainable Municipalities Udalsarea 2030 took place in Derio with the municipalities of the Txorierri Association of Municipalities: Derio, Larrabetzu, Lezama, Loiu, Sondika and Zamudio. The meeting, which was also attended by representatives of the Association itself, served to share knowledge and exchange experiences and solutions for the promotion of sustainable local action.

At the meeting, Udalsarea’s 2026 Strategic Plan was presented, as well as the Network’s strategic objectives and main lines of work – climate and energy, soil protection, green procurement and contracting, waste prevention and management, circular economy and bioeconomy and Zero Pollution initiatives and environmental vectors related to health -, as well as the topics addressed in the last committees and the issues proposed for the coming months. The municipalities, for their part, were able to share their challenges in the implementation of energy and climate projects, and Derio had the opportunity to present its track record in these areas.

Naider attended the meeting in our mission to provide assistance to Udalsarea 2030 for the promotion of sustainable public action on the environment, Agenda 2030, and green public procurement.
