NAIDER has taken part in a new working session of the One Health Living Lab (OHLL), held on 12 March. This collaborative space is aimed at promoting innovative solutions around health and wellbeing from an integrated perspective that connects social, ecological and climate-related factors.

This second workshop builds on the process launched in June 2025, when an initial session focused on listening and shared diagnosis among local stakeholders. Building on that foundation, the recent meeting has enabled progress towards the activation of concrete initiatives, strengthening cooperation between institutions, knowledge centres and socio-economic agents.

The session was structured around working groups and discussion spaces, where participants shared experiences, identified common needs and explored new opportunities for collaboration within the One Health approach.

In this context, NAIDER contributed by linking the Living Lab’s progress with the territorial development strategies it is promoting in Uribe Kosta. On the one hand, the Uribe Kosta Strategic Plan 2026–2036, which sets out a vision of competitiveness and wellbeing based on assets such as the blue economy, digitalisation, the care ecosystem and the coastal energy transition. On the other, the strategic revitalisation of Arpillao, conceived as a blue innovation hub capable of connecting science, territory and economic activity.

Both projects share a common rationale: transforming territorial challenges into opportunities for innovation by integrating scientific knowledge, strategic planning and local action. In this framework, the One Health approach provides a particularly valuable lens for addressing the interconnections between public health, ecosystems and territorial development.

NAIDER continues to work alongside local stakeholders to consolidate Uribe Kosta as a blue innovation and health ecosystem within the Atlantic Arc, fostering connections between research, businesses and communities around a more resilient and sustainable development model.

NAIDER would like to thank PIE – Plentziako Itsas Estazioa / Plentzia Marine Station for the invitation to participate in this initiative, as well as the team at BC3 – Basque Centre for Climate Change for facilitating the session.
