{"id":17523,"date":"2022-07-04T13:27:52","date_gmt":"2022-07-04T11:27:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/naider.com\/naiderlab\/que-es-realmente-el-cambio-climatico-y-cuales-son-sus-verdaderas-consecuencias\/"},"modified":"2023-04-24T13:35:26","modified_gmt":"2023-04-24T11:35:26","slug":"what-really-is-climate-change-and-what-are-its-true-consequences","status":"publish","type":"naiderlab","link":"https:\/\/naider.com\/en\/naiderlab\/knowledge\/articles\/what-really-is-climate-change-and-what-are-its-true-consequences\/","title":{"rendered":"What really is climate change and what are its true consequences?"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/naider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Picture4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp -image-18018\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Climate change is a well-known term\nand has been a recurring theme since the middle of the last century, although it was not\nuntil 1988 when the scientific community acquired a broad consensus that\nthe temperature of the planet is increasing and that human activity is the\nmain cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/naider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Picture7 -1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18023\" width=\"526\" height=\"516\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite being considered one of the consensuses\nbroader scientists, detracting voices are still heard. some stand out\nfew scientists, and citizens and above all economic and political elites with\ninterests based on <strong>fossil fuels<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Combustion is a chemical reaction that involves the\nrapid oxidation of combustible materials (solids: wood, liquids:\ngasoline or soft drinks: natural gas). This oxidation generally generates light and\nheat (usable as a source of energy), carbon dioxide (CO2) and water,\nin addition to other components, depending on the quality of the combustion process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/naider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Picture6 .png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18019\" width=\"445\" height=\"265\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Is that CO2 and other elements of combustion have\ntwo characteristics, they remain in the atmosphere when they are released and have\nthe ability to absorb ultraviolet radiation from the Sun and reflect it back\nall directions. This effect is the well-known <strong>Effect\nGreenhouse <\/strong>and that&#8217;s why these\ngases are known as Greenhouse Gases (GHG). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The greenhouse effect is an effect of the\nnatural dynamics of the Earth fostered by the presence in the atmosphere of\nthese GHGs. It is the drastic increase in the concentration of these GHGs in the\natmosphere which generates <strong>global warming<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/naider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/12\/Picture5 -1-1024x735-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-18021\" width=\"500\" height=\"358\"\/><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>Of the increase in average temperatures at scale\nplanetary crisis, a multitude of consequences are foreseen, among which stands out the <strong>change\nclimate. <\/strong>This change in\nclimatic (non-meteorological) regimes translates into a variation in the\ntemperatures, rainfall and a foreseeable increase in events\nAdverse weather increasing in scale and frequency periods of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/es.ucsusa.org\/resources\/the-connection-between-droughts-and-climate-change\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">droughts< \/a><\/strong> and <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.miteco.gob.es\/gl\/agua\/temas\/gestion-de-los-riesgos-de-inundacion\/planes-gestion -flood-risks\/Climate-change-and-floods.aspx\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">floods<\/a><\/strong><strong>.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The melting of polar and mountain glaciers,\nis another consequence. This decreases the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.meteorologiaenred.com\/albedo-de-la-tierra.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">albedo<\/a><\/strong> (percentage of\nreflected radiation with respect to that received by a surface) and therefore the\nglobal warming is accelerating. Also, a variety of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.eea.europa.eu\/en\/signals\/signals-2018-water-is-life\/articles\/climate-change-and -el\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">temperature\nand salinity <\/a><\/strong>in the oceans\nand causes an increase in the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalgeographic.es\/medio-ambiente\/el-aumento-del-nivel-del-mar\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">level\nof the sea<\/a><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalgeographic.es\/medio-ambiente\/the-rise-of-the-sea-level\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">.<\/a><\/p >\n\n\n\n<p>The melting of large areas of frozen ground (<strong><a href=\"https:\/\/es.unesco.org\/courier\/2022-1\/sergey-zimov-thawing-of-permafrost-directly-threats- climate\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">permafrost<\/a><\/strong>) in areas\nnear the poles release large amounts of other GHGs such as methane,\naccelerating warming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The increase in the emission of CO2 into the atmosphere also implies an increase\nin their presence in the oceans. This variation in the composition implies the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalgeographic.es\/medio-ambiente\/what-is-the-acidification-of-the-oceans-and-why-it-is- -produces\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">acidification\nof the oceans<\/a><\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.nationalgeographic.es\/medio-ambiente\/what-is-ocean-acidification-and-why- occurs\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">.\n<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Drastic changes in climate regimes and physical changes in both terrestrial and marine ecosystems lead to a scenario of <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/elpais.com\/ciencia\/2020-04-08\/un -study-calculates-that-the-collapse-of-ecosystems-will-produce-from-2030-if-no-action-is-taken.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">collapse of biodiversity<\/a><\/ strong><a href=\"https:\/\/elpais.com\/ciencia\/2020-04-08\/a-study-calculates-that-the-collapse-of-ecosystems-will-produce-from- -2030-si-no-se-actua.html\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">.<\/a> Current situation and that is aggravated by other human activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Human societies are also affected by the consequences of climate change. Some have a greater (economic) resilience capacity to face it.
