The MITECO (Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge) has definitively approved the plan that, during 2021-2023, will seek to promote and consolidate a circular and decarbonized economic model. For this, it has a budget of more than 1,500 million euros that will be distributed among the 116 measures contemplated to make it a reality. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

These measures are articulated in 8 main axes:\nproduction, consumption, waste management, secondary raw materials,\nwater reuse, awareness and participation, research,\ninnovation and competitiveness; and employment and training. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the axis of production, the measures aimed at the\necodesign in various sectors such as food or forestry, as well as\nCircular SME initiative, which aims to integrate the circular economy into\nsmall and medium-sized companies through spaces to rethink and create new formulas\nfor the new model. The tourism field will be another of the sectors at the point\nde mira, in which it is intended to develop sustainable tourism as a transforming lever\nof the sector. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

To the axis of consumption are destined tools related\nwith consumer information, such as the European Ecolabel or a\nnew Label that will inform about the useful life and index of reparability of the\nproduct in question. Likewise, between\nits objectives are measures to reduce food waste and encourage\nsecond-hand markets and reuse habits. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another key point is waste management, where\nwill include new waste prevention and planning programs, in addition to\nnew limitations for textiles and agricultural plastics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the newest points corresponds to the subjects\nsecondary raw materials and water reuse, which includes actions for the\nuse and promotion of by-products and the development of end-of-condition criteria\nof residue. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the transversal axes of research, awareness\nand employment the objective is to develop good circular economy practices,\naccompanied by programs that promote research and innovation, together\nwith insertion training programs for certain groups. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The final objective of this first PAEC is to lay the foundations of a new model that prolongs the value of resources for a longer time in the economy, in such a way that the generation of waste is reduced as much as possible. And all this through processes that help achieve the decarbonization of the economy in parallel. One more fundamental tool on the path to ecological transition. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
