Although 78% of materials were recycled in 2020, circularity requires more than just recycling, it is also necessary that recycled materials be used as inputs for new vehicles, and currently only 21% of the materials used are recycled.<\/p>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"394\" height=\"559\" src=\"https:\/\/naider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Captura-de-pantalla-2023-04-21-a-las-12.30.42-1.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22808\"\/><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n<p>While until a few years ago circularity has focused on end-of-life and battery recycling, this is evolving towards recyclability of the entire vehicle and its processes, creating a strategic opportunity with revenue potential for companies that are positioned to take advantage of circular solutions from the rise of electric vehicles and vehicle automation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The report indicates that to achieve a net-zero auto industry, it will not be enough to abandon fossil fuels, but rather five key circular economy strategies will be necessary:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Increase recycled content in production.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Optimize the use of materials in vehicles by innovating materials and expanding the range by weight of batteries.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reuse and remanufacture parts.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adopt new business models.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Innovation and implementation of recycling at the end of its useful life.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\">\n<figure class=\"aligncenter size-full is-resized\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/naider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Circularidad_turismos.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-22811\" width=\"562\" height=\"534\" srcset=\"https:\/\/naider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Circularidad_turismos.png 1103w, https:\/\/naider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Circularidad_turismos-800x759.png 800w, https:\/\/naider.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/04\/Circularidad_turismos-768x729.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 562px) 100vw, 562px\" \/><\/figure>\n<\/div>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>According to the report &#8220;Beyond recycling: The circular opportunity for passenger cars in Europe&#8221; by Circle Economy, only 40% of the automotive sector is circular.
