The nine municipalities of the Nerbioi-Ibaizabal commonwealth<\/a> are moving forward with a joint strategy to promote the renaturalisation of their territory through Nature-Based Solutions (NBS). The project seeks to implement specific interventions that improve climate resilience, the quality of urban spaces and the ecosystem health of each of the towns in the region. This will enable them to adapt their urban environments to intense territorial pressures and climate threats.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Naider, we are supporting this initiative by providing specialised technical assistance to identify opportunities for action, boost inter-municipal collaboration and prioritise transformative interventions. We are working on the basis of a technical diagnosis that allows us to locate key areas for action, strengthen existing regional green and blue infrastructure and identify places with the greatest deficiencies or exposed to the greatest climate risks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The process is participatory, involving sessions and constant dialogue with the technical and political staff of the participating municipal councils<\/a>. The combination of technical rigour, experience, and knowledge of the local context results in an intervention proposal for each municipality. All the identified intervention possibilities are compiled, and specific projects are explored in depth for immediate implementation. Each local council has a set of prioritisation criteria and visual tools to facilitate decision-making. The aim is to transform the region into a living laboratory of scalable, replicable and interconnected natural solutions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
