On 28 and 29 May, NAIDER took part in the Cities Mission Conference 2026<\/a><\/strong>, held in Turin, one of Europe’s leading gatherings dedicated to advancing the transition towards climate neutrality in cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference brings together representatives from European institutions, national governments, local authorities, knowledge centres and organisations involved in the European Mission for Smart and Climate-Neutral Cities<\/a><\/strong>, an initiative aimed at accelerating urban transformation and moving towards more sustainable, resilient and competitive cities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NAIDER’s participation in the event forms part of the work the team carries out alongside public administrations and European partners in areas such as climate action, energy transition, urban regeneration and sustainable territorial development. Particularly noteworthy is the collaboration sustained over recent years with Bilbao City Council<\/a> in support of the Bilbao Climate Mission 2030<\/a> and the development of its Climate Agreement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

NAIDER was represented in Turin by Jokin Etxebarria, Coordinator of Economics and Innovation, and Iv\u00e1n de Torres, Intelligence Analyst, who took part in the various sessions and exchange spaces held during the conference alongside cities and organisations from across Europe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year’s edition focused on the challenges associated with implementing the urban climate transition, addressing issues related to governance, financing, collaboration between stakeholders, and the capacity of cities to translate climate commitments into concrete projects and actions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
