The Nerbioi-Ibaizabal Community of Municipalities receives technical assistance from NAIDER to promote the use of nature-based solutions (NBS) in the municipalities of the valley.
To this end, it will identify and map the nature-based adaptation measures that the communities currently have in place. It will also look at the possibilities for expanding NBS in the county: which ones should be modified or strengthened, which new areas can be used and, finally, the overall adaptation potential from a renaturation point of view.
In this way, regional and municipal leaders will be provided with the elements and tools for decision making to maximise the adaptive capacity of the NBS. The project will be implemented at both regional and municipal level for the nine municipalities of the Nerbioi-Ibaizabal valley in Bizkaia: Arakaldo, Arrankudiaga-Zollo, Arrigorriaga, Etxebarri, Orozko, Ugao-Miraballes, Urduña-Orduña, Zaratamo and Zeberio.
