The Town Council of Ortuella has an Environmental Planning, Management and Protection Department. As a local public administration, it has certain obligations and competences in environmental matters.

In terms of planning, there are general strategies and sectoral plans, and in terms of management, there are municipal responsibilities such as waste management, water management and conservation, promotion of energy conversion and recovery, and care for biodiversity and natural spaces.

It is also the department responsible for carrying out environmental awareness campaigns among citizens, as well as strengthening coordination between the City Council and schools through the Agenda 2030 School Environmental Education Programme.

Over the past two years, Ortuella has relied on Naider’s team to provide support and advice in all these areas as part of a collaborative approach. In this way, Naider has promoted local sustainability in the municipality by measuring indicators, designing, reviewing and monitoring plans and strategies, carrying out sectoral analyses, creating environmental campaigns, coordinating the School Agenda 2030, among other tasks requested by the council.
