Ermua Town Council, in collaboration with Mallabia Town Council, will receive technical assistance from NAIDER to draw up the Management and Action Plan for the Urtia Industrial Area, which is shared by both municipalities, in Bizkaia, in a strategic enclave. In order to promote its conservation, improvement and adaptation, the project will emphasise the strengthening of its governance model and the implementation of a regeneration process for the competitiveness of the industrial estate.
Within the framework of the assistance, a detailed analysis of the estate’s situation will be used as a basis for defining priority lines of action. A Management Plan will be drawn up that includes the agreed governance framework for the new Urtia Industrial Estate Business Association, which will also have a roadmap for its operational viability.
Urtia is a significant industrial enclave for the region. The industrial estate, which has outstanding connectivity due to its proximity to the AP-8 motorway and the Bilbao-Donostia railway line, is home to companies that reflect the industrial tradition of the area, especially in the automotive, metallurgy and manufacturing sectors.
