Jokin Etxebarria, Economy and Innovation Coordinator at NAIDER, has today taken part as an invited speaker at the BlueAdapt Safe and Healthy Seas Innovation Workshop, an online event bringing together researchers, businesses, policymakers and community organisations around innovation for safer seas and more resilient coastal communities.

Under the title Building Innovative Territories Around the Blue Economy, Jokin presented NAIDER’s approach to coastal territorial development —plan, implement, evaluate— drawing on the Uribe Kosta Strategic Plan as a case study, a coastal district combining maritime activities and natural assets.

The workshop brought together researchers and leading organisations in coastal innovation, including the Basque Centre for Climate Change (BC3) —with whom NAIDER collaborates on the One Health Living Lab in Uribe Kosta—, the University of Exeter, Bangor University and the University of Warsaw, alongside European projects such as CLIMOS, TRIGGER and CATALYSE.
