NAIDER is collaborating with Planeación, Desarrollo & Territorio (CPDyT), a leading firm in Mexico in territorial planning, on the Territorial Planning and Land Management Studies for the area surrounding the stations of Villaldama, Lampazos de Naranjo, Anáhuac and Nuevo Laredo, in the states of Nuevo León and Tamaulipas. The work is being carried out for Mexico’s Secretaría de Desarrollo Agrario, Territorial y Urbano (SEDATU) — the Ministry of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development — under the National Railway Programme.
The rollout of new railway infrastructure opens up opportunities for urban and economic transformation, while also raising challenges around land use and value, urban growth, mobility and territorial coordination. The studies will make it possible to anticipate these dynamics and guide the integration of the new stations into their surrounding areas.
As part of the team coordinated by CPDyT, NAIDER is contributing its expertise in territorial planning, urban development and socio-economic analysis, working on areas including the analysis of Transit-Oriented Development (TOD) benchmarks, territorial economics and land use, the construction of scenarios and territorial integration strategies, and the definition of an implementation roadmap.
