The public company Ihobe has launched the Interactive Viewer of Nature-Based Solutions (NBS), a digital tool that allows users to view the key interventions implemented in the Basque Country to promote climate change adaptation from a territorial perspective.
The viewer provides an up-to-date overview of 31 NBS projects implemented in Basque municipalities and can be expanded to incorporate new initiatives as they are introduced. Users can filter and explore information by location, type of solution, adaptation objective or promoting agents. The viewer is intended to serve as a territorial intelligence tool for municipal technicians, institutional managers, and other entities interested in the deployment of green and blue infrastructure at a local level.
This initiative forms part of the Basque Government’s KLIMA 2050 strategy, which has recognised nature-based solutions (NBS) as a key public policy area since its approval in 2015. Since then, Ihobe has promoted a range of tools and resources to integrate these solutions into the Basque Country’s urban and territorial policies.
NAIDER’s expertise in climate planning, urban ecology, and developing strategic advisors has allowed us to offer a viable, scalable, and practical solution. Through this project, we are reinforcing our capacity to translate environmental data into useful, operational information for designing transformative public policies.
At NAIDER, we support institutions and territories in designing innovative tools to make climate actions visible, coordinated and enhanced, always taking a technical and strategic approach oriented towards generating real impact.
