Today we attended Foro Biratu, which brought together institutions, companies and sustainability experts at the Agustinask Zentroa in Errenteria to reflect and move towards the circular economy in the Oarsoaldea region. This event, organised with the aim of promoting dialogue and cooperation, provided a platform for sharing experiences and good practices that are transforming the local economic fabric.
The Mayor of Errenteria and President of the Oarsoaldea Development Agency, Aizpea Otaegi Mitxelena, and the Director of the Department of Economic Promotion of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, Unai Andueza Iraeta, opened the event. Both stressed the importance of collective commitment in tackling environmental challenges from a local perspective.
NAIDER has had the opportunity to present the scope of the Biratu Programme, explaining the actions developed to diagnose and raise awareness of circularity opportunities in companies in the region. We referred to the implementation of pilot circularity tools in small and medium-sized companies designed to be used as a reference model.
Afterwards, companies from the region shared their experiences of circular economy: Ondarreta, Papresa, Ekonen, Bixgarri Gastroteka, Merka Oiartzun and Blue Design.
The forum concluded with a networking session in which the participants, including the four mayors of Oarsoaldea, exchanged ideas and analysed the possibilities for collaboration, laying the foundations for future joint projects.
