We continue to work on the ENSANCHE ECO-DISTRITO EMPRENDEDOR project for the revitalisation of the centre of Vitoria-Gasteiz with the celebration this week of the first NEIGHBOURHOOD WORKSHOP to identify and co-create opportunities for the integral rehabilitation of the Teatro Principal block.
The workshop, held in the Edificio Ópera, was attended by more than 50 people representing citizens and relevant actors in the block. Their participation helped to build social cohesion around the project.
During the meeting, our colleagues Haizea Aguirre Puértolas, Edurne Astaburuaga López and Iván de Torres, together with Iñaki Romero Fernández de Larrea from Paisaje Transversal, presented the project and invited the participants to propose ideas and express their point of view on the possible projects that the block could host.
The press in Vitoria-Gasteiz reported on the workshop, encouraging the participation of citizens, and we also had the presence of the media during the meeting itself, which provided a loudspeaker for the discussions. We would also like to thank the Asociación Ensanche XIX for their support.
The participatory process will continue with new actions and meetings in the coming months. In a few days, the technical office of the ENSANCHE ECO-DISTRITO EMPRENDEDOR project will be opened to the public at 38 Calle Dato.
The ENSANCHE ECO-DISTRITO EMPRENDEDOR project is led by Vitoria-Gasteiz City Council through the Ensanche 21 Zabalgunea Municipal Urban Planning Society. NAIDER is collaborating with Paisaje Transversal in the preparation of the preliminary studies for the complete refurbishment of the block.
