Last Thursday, pupils from Ortuella had the opportunity to present their School Agenda 2030 work at the municipal plenary session in front of all the political parties. Naider provided assistance in carrying out the local level of the School Agenda during the course.
After being received by Saulo Nebreda (Mayor), the pupils from IES Otxartaga, San Félix and Ortuella presented a joint diagnosis of the population of Ortuella’s habits and opportunities for responsible consumption. To carry out the survey, more than 450 questionnaires were distributed to citizens and students. They drew a clear conclusion from this:

Citizens are becoming more aware of and involved in responsible consumption. They are paying more attention to the origin of products, their packaging and quality, and whether they actually need them. However, when they try to take action, they encounter obstacles such as higher prices, inconvenience and a lack of opportunities. This is why the awareness they have acquired has not yet materialised in practice.
In response to this issue, the students have identified and prioritised specific areas for improvement, proposing actions to address them. Next year, they will implement one of these activities as part of their commitment to promoting responsible consumption in Ortuella.
They have also sent proposals to the town council to encourage more opportunities and initiatives for responsible consumption.
